Critter Justice

When Citizens for Common Sense Government met several months ago to discuss the killing of two Porter County pet dogs by a hunter, we agreed to post comments and findings relative to the killing and torturing of animals throughout Indiana. To what end? To discover how our law enforcement, judicial system, politicians, and most relevantly, the conservation officers on our Hoosier payroll, respond to the legal and ethical needs of the nonhunting community. We came together because there were shared incidents of discrimination and outright contempt for folks who did not possess a hunting license. More ominously, nonhunters with animal issues were frequently given "misinformation" by DNR officers. Did you know there is no penalty for DNR officers and administrators who mislead, omit on purpose, or in simple and direct terms - LIE? Even with the use of a Freedom of Information request, the DNR need only respond. They are NOT obligated to provide accurate or correct information. Just information. Try that when filling out your state tax forms!
